Die 12 Originalkupferstiche, die für dieses Buch verwendet wurden, stammen aus originalen Exemplaren der Bildtafel-Bände I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII und IX von
Diderots Encyclopédie . Sie sind von 1762 bis 1771 erschienen. Das vorhandene Material ermöglichte die Herstellung von 12 Exemplaren, von denen jedes andere Kupferstiche enthält. Im Buchdruck darauf gedruckt sind leicht veränderte Textpassagen aus Lewis Carrolls
Alice in Wonderland und
Through the Looking-Glass (1865 & 1872 in London erschienen). Die Bilder sind mit Polymer-Klischees gedruckt.
